Treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

If you have experienced or witnessed a traumatic event and experience symptoms such as intrusive memories, flashbacks, nightmares, hyperarousal, irritability, difficulty concentrating, and many others, you may have post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). PTSD can profoundly impact your life, making it difficult for you to move forward.

We believe in your resilience.

Butler Behavioral understands the deep challenges PTSD brings and the vulnerability and courage it takes for you to seek treatment.

What treatment for PTSD looks like:

Recovery from PTSD involves gradually processing traumatic memories, learning adaptive coping strategies, and rebuilding a sense of safety and trust in yourself and others.

To assist in your recovery, Butler Behavioral offers evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Processing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which are both effective in helping you process your traumatic experience(s) and reduce your symptoms.

We provide medication management services and may recommend you start a psychiatric medication to alleviate symptoms of PTSD, particularly if you have other co-occurring conditions such as depression or anxiety. Other supportive interventions such as group therapy and peer support groups can foster a sense of social support and connection. Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy (EMDR) and Prolonged Exposure are also effective interventions.

If you’re interested in these specific types of therapies, we’re happy to assist you in finding a therapist specialized in these areas.

Butler Behavioral believes in your resilience and are committed to supporting you on your journey to recovery.
